Furius Micro Rss
Furius Micro Rss is a small, lightweight and cross platform RSS (Really Simple Syndication) feed reader, written in Python using the Gtk tool kit.

Cross Platform (Tested on Linux (Ubuntu 7.10) and Microsoft Windows Vista).
Handles RSS 0.9x, RSS 1.0, RSS 2.0, CDF, Atom 0.3, and Atom 1.0 feeds
Supports multiple language encodings.
Installation
Linux:
Dependencies
- pyGtk (http://www.pygtk.org/)Ubuntu users can install using: sudo apt-get install python-gtk2
Download PyFuriusRssMicro.tar.gz
Extract PyFuriusRssMicro.tar.gz
Double click FuriusMicroRss.py
When prompted select ‘Run’
Windows:

Download PyFuriusMicroRss.zip
Extract PyFuriusMicroRss.zip
Double click FuriusMicroRss.pyw
Please note: The Windows version is identical to the Linux version, however, the executing file has been given a .pyw extension to prevent the Python console from displaying under Windows. This file will work under Linux if it is made executable.
How To Use
- First, configure your feed list (see below)
- Selecting a headline from the list displays the synopsis in the headline box.
- Double clicking (or pressing Enter) on a headline will launch your default web browser and take you to the news page.
- Clicking the refresh button will refresh the current feed.
- Use the forward and back buttons to navigate through your feed list.
- Pressing the home button takes you to the feed’s home page.
Configuring Feeds
To add/remove/change feeds, open config.py in your favourite text editor

Hi,
I downloaded your app yesterday, it’s nice. I think that the option to send it to system tray was lacking in this sort of programm where you want to check regulary for new feeds, so i’ve aded it to code. I can send it to you if your interested.
