what i’t mean!? ufff
an real tool native to linux, and is u search fo easy use, is the “MounISO” tool at kdeapp.org.
Piccoro, First, it is a mono application and that is why there is a .exe inside the package (just like banshee and beagle, etc). Second, this is not an ubuntu only application, the .deb is purely for simplicity for Ubuntu users. Third, this is a GTK+ (Gnome) application and not KDE. I’m sorry you don’t feel this is a ‘real’ Linux application.

I found this .exe in, non KDE etc… great. I can use this easily with the .deb given freely and friendly.
It works great and if someone don’t like it or can’t use it with is KDE, what is the problem ? switch to gnome or use real KDE apps. critisize is easy ; programming cool stuff is great.
I thanks greats and wait for the easys to go great.
@PICCORO:
It’s kde-apps.org not kdeapp.org.
@Dean:
It would be great if you could add an option (or maybe just a gconf setting) that would allow you to switch burning applications. I don’t have nautilus-cd-burner installed because I use brasero (brasero –image /path/to/image).
Another much more needed feature is the ability to change the mount point.
Anyways, it is a very good and simple application.
(BTW: I have not tried the bzr version so these features may have already been implemented.
Thanks for your comment Steve. I will add an option to brasero and I’ll look into to being able to choose the mount point.

This program looks really cool, but everytime I run the ./configure script (I am using Fedora 9) I get an error message saying no gtk-sharp-2.0 found. However I am using the most recent version 2.10.3-3.fc9. Does this app work in Fedora? Or am I just making a mistake with the way I am trying to install it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Keith, I’m sorry to hear you are having problems. Furius ISO Mount requires the following dependencies: fuseiso, mono-runtime, libgtk2.0-cil
Hopefully installing these will fix your problems.

great work.
i like this project but i don’t understand for what have an “.exe” on this program,is because created on mono? or have on wine socket?
one suggestion: add option to “Nero Linux 3″ for burn.
this program is not popular because is no open-source and commercial.
but is excellent software,in my opinion is the best burn software for linux.if you like try (have trial version):
website: http://www.nero.com/eng/linux3.html
the command for example open image.iso:
nero image.iso
Hi uplink, thanks for your comment. The reason for the ‘.exe’ is because the program is a mono application. Visit http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mono_(software) for more information.
Is there an x64 version for this?
@ d_inevitable, there is no Ubuntu 64bit deb installer, but Furius ISO Mount is very easy to install from source for Ubuntu.
Follow these commands (this is for the English version):
< --START OF CONSOLE COMMANDS-->
sudo apt-get install build-essential mono-gmcs fuseiso libgtk2.0-cil libmono-system2.0-cil
wget http://www.marcus-furius.com/files/FuriusIsoMount/furiusisomount-0.8.4.0.tar.gz
tar xzvf furiusisomount-0.8.4.0.tar.gz
cd furiusisomount-0.8.4.0
./configure
make
sudo make install
< --END OF CONSOLE COMMANDS-->
Furius ISO Mount should now be installed and available under Sound & Vision
It worked. Thanks a lot.
Great software! it comes with so many useful features!!! and it’s unbelievably lightweight!!! thanks!

Hi, first of all very nice utility, I must admit I feel a sense of “disturbance” by having to use mono, but indeed is a much needed (and well polished too) little app.
Much appreciated is the fuse mounting ability and the multiple burner backend support too.
Also, I’ve seen that you still lack an italian translation (it-IT) which, being a native speaker, I could give you.
If you are interested please contact me at the e-mail address attached to the comment, I’ll be happy to help a useful open source project like this if I can.
Riccardo
hello,
your program was found by me in internet, compiled sucessfully, and I added a package to the SYS depository, very likely it will be included also in the next version of the install DVD (in preparation)
When you want you can verify if/that the package is correct and works.

hi,
a nice little tool but can it take command line options? that would be cool and save time. for instance the user could right-click an image file and select to mount it.
thanks for a useful tool
Stephen
@stephen, at present it doesn’t accept command line options, but that’s a very good idea.

@Srikanth, thanks for spotting my poor spelling.
try to mount Windows Vista or Windows Server 2008 DVD will result like this:
This disc contains a “UDF” file system and requires an operating system
that supports the ISO-13346 “UDF” file system specification.
Can you give further support for UDF iso format?
Usually I mount with this command:
# mount -t udf /data/images/vista.iso /mnt/image
@Dani3l, This is something I’ve been meaning to look into for a while. I should hopefully be adding support for this in the new Python version. Any new features will be added to this rather than the Mono version.
Very practical, simple and elegant.
Thanks.

@Andrey
Thanks, for the comment. I have stopped development on the mono version which has support for localization but when I have added support for localization of the Python version, I’ll be sure to get in touch.

Hi,
I downloaded the latest ubuntu X86_64 build (furiusisomount_0.11.1.0-1_amd64.deb), but I’m unable to install it, the error is “WRONG ARCHITECHTURE”.
I then took the previous version from launchpad and it installed correctly (http://launchpad.net/furiusisomount/python/0.11.0.0/+download/furiusisomount_0.11.0.0-1_amd64.deb).
BTW, thanks very much for the bits.

Furius ISO Mount - this program is quite excellent. I just install it today on ubuntu 9.10 to mount a BIN file and it works excellent. I am in China and my ubuntu is English language. It is not a problem for me to use software in English. I have seen the transltion and there is no simplified Chinese. I want to transalte it to Chinese, so that it may provide help for other Chinese users. How could I join the translation? Thanks!
